arent u in quarantine, nigga? Will be getting jawline fillers soon In the coming weeks and will post results if this thread gets enough attention, reply below and I will send u pics in PM as well soon
why anyone would get fillers or implants instead of osteotomization is beyond me
I am a greycel what is osteotomization?
osteotomization is surgery that includes an osteotomy.
an osteotomy is any surgery that has to do with incising/bone to move it or lengthen it.
any lengthening procedure is then called distraction osteogenesis, which involves osteotomizing the bone (cutting it), and then applying distractors to pull them apart overtime, osteogenesis having the root word 'osteo' which is greek for bone and genesis which is greek for 'creating', we are practically creating MORE bone
thanks for the explanation, appreciate it. The problem that those surgeries are very invasive and cost a lot are probably the reason why people tend to get fillers
What are the limitation of this type of surgery? What's the cost compared to implants? How long does the process of creating new bone take?why anyone would get fillers or implants instead of osteotomization is beyond me

Mirin, you should make a thread one day you have time. I'm pretty sure many would be interestedthe limit is the amount of bone you have to work with. you need to consult a maxfac and have a professional diagnosis done, note that there are many things to take into consideration such as your current disposition, bite, bone mass, etc.
can cost up to 5x more than implants, but you have to take into consideration longevity, health and function. it's a pretty damn good tradeoff if you ask me.
depends on what you're distracting. if you're distracting the mandible it can take 1-2 months. leg lengthening surgery results can take anywhere up to 5 months. and then there's post surgery osteoporosis, since the newly created bone is extremely gracile and porous.
This is not really that simple as with surgeries you have to take into account risks/ recovery / shitty results that may be hard to get rid of.fillers degrade bone overtime and you have to keep reapplying them every year orso because they're temporary so in the long run fillers cost more if not the same, depending on how long you want them for
any results you get from expansion, osteotomies, etc are permanent and you don't have to worry about reapplying anything or having a second job done. if you're done you're done, that's it, you've made it.
the risk is practically the same with fillersThis is not really that simple as with surgeries you have to take into account risks/ recovery / shitty results that may be hard to get rid of.
Besides, is there even osteotomy for increasing bigonial width?
From what I understand risk of nerve damage is lower for fillers.the risk is practically the same with fillers
and yes there is, mandibular symphyseal distraction osteogenesis (MSDO)
UPDATE, I am in quarantine so there is no use to get fillers now but when all this shit is over I will share pics don’t worry, only thing I’m worried about is that im getting these in Pakistan so wish me luck I hope the doctor doesn’t turn me into a tranny.osteotomization is surgery that includes an osteotomy.
