Society would probably be a lot more forgiving and say "she needs to find her happiness" or even assume that the husband was the abuser. The judicial system always fucks the men over in divorce settlements in terms of finance or even when it comes to who gets custody of the kids. Do you know what kind of arrangement they had? Like, how much were they earning, respectively?

Thank God I dont remember anything but unfortunately my sister remembers vividly how everything in our house, day by day was being sold till the point we were sleeping on mattreses so we cluld afford to leave the country and live there. We didnt have a home for 1 whole year when we came to our country and wpuld be nomads going frim grandma’s to aunts house.
