Then it rambled on about some general who took his enemies in because they were more loyal, and another story where an emperor's friend, someone he had cared for, ended up overthrowing him. Just pure cherry-picked garbage. I had to drop it after that.

Nobody's going to be in some emperor-tier position where they have full control over people anyway. It's such a bad book, jfl.

Exactly, it's only about powerful, high status and rich people - kings, emperors, politicians, entrepreneurs, celebrities, etc., if you're an average Joe all the advice there is useless.
