Read the bible and read the quaran, see how much stupid shit is in there. Then you'll realize that the only reason you still think there is a god is that western culture was built on Christianity, that's why even if they're not religious, people still think there is a higher power. Imagine you are in ancient Greece, and you don't believe in the pantheon gods, you'll still be agnostic because it's so inbuilt into your culture to believe in them even if it doesn't logically make sense.

The only reason you have the idea of a god existing as a smart engineer is because you're so exposed to the abrahamic religions. Monotheism is relatively recent, every single african tribe and shit, egyptians, greeks, romans beleived in polytheism
