this is not unexpected. even in imperial japan women bleached their skin and powdered it up and tried to look as white as possible. Feminity =white. not being white as a female or atleast light brown is bad because darker skin tone is dimorphic. whats bad for females is generally good for males but dark skintone is a failo on everyone cos it doesnt provide contrast and hide undertone
