I wish Brits colonized the Balkans

Imagine having Belgrade as your capital instead of Wien jfl
Nah, im larping, i actually like that Serbs did it, being under Austrian occupation is embarrassing no matter the price. Serbs mogged the Austrians hard in ww1 until Bulgarians attacked from behind. Battle of Kolubara and Cer was a brutal mog and the front was barely changed for more then a year, if it wasn't for Bulgaria Serbs would have never lost against Austria. Balkan might

How did Serbs even acquire modern weapons?

They were illiterate cavemen in WW1.

Huh? Serbia in ww1 had more modern grenades then Austria and Germany, i read this from a report made by an Austrian general that didn't like to fight the Serbs cause they will be too tough. I forgot on other stuff, but they also had modern artillery and guns. The only thing they were bad in was equipment. They were suplied by the French, Italians and Russians from 1878 to 1912

Impossible they had more modern equipment than Germany who singlehandedly almost won a 1v5.

But Austria, maybe.

They had grenades from france purchased right on the eve of ww1, they were the most modern grenades at the time. Either way Germany and Austria couldn't conquer even a piece of Serbia for 1 year and 3 months, the Serbs had a better organized army then Russia. If it wasn't for Bulgaria attacking from behind, Serbs would probably never fall

Germany didn't even enter the Balkan theater until 1915. Austria made gains as soon as the German help came.

Germany was busy fighting UK, France and Russia at the same time.

"During the first invasion of Serbia, nicknamed the Strafexpedition[3] (punitive expedition) of August 1914, Austro-Hungarian forces occupied Serbian territories for 13 days. That first occupation turned into a brutal war of annihilation, accompanied by massacres of civilians and the taking of hostages;[4] Austro-Hungarian troops committed a number of atrocities against the Serbian population, especially in the area of Mačva. During that period between 3,500 and 4,000 Serb civilians were killed in executions and random violence by marauding troops."

Scumbag Austria
