I wish the person close to me for example my girl, or mom or whoever else I’m with can give a quick speech to others at the gathering and tell them “before Verm comes, here’s something you should know. He doesn’t look you in the eye. He doesn’t like to talk. He doesn’t like to joke. Let’s make the conversation very mild and kinda low key so he can feel comfortable. If we all joke and act loud he’s not gonna feel okay. He’s mentally ill and doesn’t fit in but he’s making an effort by coming here. So be glad and have patience”
