Modern society has by and large castrated males. Men used to have value to a female’s life, but women don’t really need men. So obviously they will be picky and just select males that make them wet or offer them lives of wealth. They, like everyone basically, enjoy what males create in society directly and indirectly anyway. You don’t have to reward them with sex or offspring for it.

I would argue this has been the case for centuries, but social constructs and the limitations placed on women kept certain structures afloat. With those gone there isn’t really a reason to reproduce with a lot of men cause you don’t need them, not directly anyway. You can be very picky. You could even say the same for friendships and connections. You can practically live decades in utter loneliness and survive. You can be a total dick to people around you and still have access to basic necessities. You can still buy food at the supermarket, hell, you can even order it online and have it shipped by people you don’t know or have to know at all, be a dick to him verbally, place another order and his boss will have him ship your order the next day. This comfort has come at the expense of a lot of social tendencies, and is why so many people are completely socially stunted.
