Freddy Krueger was originally supposed to be a pedophile but Wes Craven didn’t want to cash in on the sensationalized headlines about pedophiles, so they limited him to being a child murderer. Only in the remake did they go with the original idea of him bei being a pedophile. Fun fact: the actor who wanted to play the OG Freddy Krueger and even auditioned for it finally got the role in the remake. As for Freddy Vs Jason, I think people consider it to be a draw because both of them are alive. Freddy was decapitated by Lori and not Jason so it makes sense that Jason isn’t considered the winner. I gotta rewatch that movie sometime. That dock scene was brutal, how Freddy pushed his claw into Jason’s eyes. Fuck, man.

Best part was when Jason used his own arm impaling against him, and the eagerly awaited sense of Freddy feeling physical pain and suffering. Which in comparison to the mental equivalent unleashed by Freddy prior, is so much worse to endure, every time. Physical agony > mental. Seeing as we can take hours of nightmares, but barely a minute of being torn.

Symbolically too, Jason is the child who resisted the molester. The first is to truly put fear into Freddy. Maybe vice versa, I don't know. He's the incel to which incels should be rooting for.

But where these characters' superiority is supposed to be a strength is ultimately a flaw, and thus they quickly become tedious and predictable...
