Why did the philosopher bring modal syllogism to the bar?

Because he knew "If I buy her a drink, she might say yes," and "If she says yes, we will have a date," then "Therefore, I could be going out tonight!"

Just remember, the only modal you'd want to avoid is "might" when asking for her number!
