I’ve just started doing a 16:8 fast. would it be more efficient to bump it up to a 20:4 or even 22:2?

Fasting lowers collagen and I can't imagine hitting the gym hard on a 20:4

Yes. Low-carbohydrate diet, one meal a day, and physical activity should improve your face gains. That has been my experience anyway.

Fasting is a jewish scam, there is nothing to be gained from starving yourself

Depends on what your goals are.

For leaning down I’d recommend the 16:8, it’s not that hard to stick to once you get used to it. Also you will be able to stick to your calories pretty well in that time window.

Using caffeine and nicotine during your fasting hours to suppress your appetite. Caffeine and nicotine work pretty wel for appetite control if you use them both strategically.
