what is the height at which your smv will boost the most

Probably from average to tall but if you are short you should also get it

I would say that you need to be at least 5’11. Then you can get to 6’2 or something with good proportions

how short
From what I remember you are 5'3, you should get it IMO unless you will look like too much of a trex

Depends on your arm length and torso height

If you have good proportions for LL you should get it no matter your height if you really want to max your looks

5'8 -> 6'0.5 is crazy

6'1, then get double LL to be 6'5.

That's mental illness. Not doing LL but doing 16 fucking cm and massively increasing his risk of complications when he only needed half of that to be the perfect male height.

Depends on which one you wanna do. According to Paley's site the safest options are tibias only for 5 cm, or 8 cm for tibias+femurs. Above that you're gambling with your long-term health and most doctors will probably refuse unless you're a turbo manlet. So realistically your options are 2 or 3 inches increase. I feel the biggest boost in SMV is either 6'0-6'3 or 5'8-5'11. Below 5'8 is probably where the benefits begin to decrease, 5'7-5'10 won't make a big difference and you need to consider the more dangerous options.

So 2 inches is the minimum

Should a 5'3 man bother to become 5'5

LL is a very complex, expensive and difficult surgery with some potential complications, so I can't in good conscience just advise you to do it, it has to be based on your own research, but I can also imagine how difficult being 5'5 must be and how beneficial it would be for you to become taller.

You need to go to the limb lengthening forum, read up on all the info they have there, ask people who did it, do your own research, read some papers etc. and come to your own conclusion. All I can tell you is that if you decide to do it you CANNOT cheap out, there are a lot of horror stories out there of guys destroying their legs because they went to cheap shitty shady LL clinics in India, Turkey and places like that and got botched.
But the information and stickies in the limb lengthening forum should be your starting point.

5'3-5'4 to 5'7 probably. Shorter than most women to taller than most women.
