This is long and the point of this post was to express my general confusion with the attitude of normal people to the concept of lookism (water I know)
I was watching some yt video of some dude reacting to the guy on tiktok who’s 20 and balding in college
He kept criticising how the tiktoker was improving his hair for the reason of improving his treatment and dating life, which of course it would
Throughout the video the point that looks don’t matter (of course), was heavily pushed, while simultaneously contradicting himself by subtly insulting the guy every chance he got
He brung up countless times how all the older women in the comments liked bald guys, but the dudes 20??
He did mention pretty privilege, and said it was something “weird” people did
We are animals
He failed to recognise that since we are animals, we subconsciously look for traits which indicate fertility, strength, and longevity, thus a fuller head of hair indicating a protected skull both from blows and temperature changes
