Zoomers love Jap and Korean stuff but China has very little soft power.
No one simps for China except ideological commies and coping ricecels
But China is currently investing in that

I would say that genshin is the most popular Chinese thing. Many people are increasingly also read manhua and Chinese web novels tho. At barnes and noble in the manga section, there's now Chinese web novels physically printed next to korean and japanese ones.

So basically the popularity of Japanese and Korean culture will help the Chinese invest into similar genres and areas because the east asian culture is very similar. Of course censorship and geopolitical conflict doesn't help the Chinese spread soft power in the west.
But the Chinese might be gaining more soft power than other nation in developing countries in Africa and Asia
