If growth plates usually close at 16-18, why does the CDC say growth continues to 20?

idk why, but I did grow during this period, can be postural changes, can be growth

I know for me I had a growth spurt from 13-15 and I honestly dont think Ive grown a cm since 15 (almost 18 now) so its ggs for mine

Weird thing is Im still in puberty, tanner stage 4, and hit puberty late at 13, but my growth ended so early

its mostly late bloomer growth since late bloomers grow A LOT MORE than everyone else so even if they make up 20% they contribute. The growth curves arent meant to represent the average dude's exact growth from infancy to adulthood. Id say the average dude grows 1/2-1 inch after 16, not 1.5 inches or whatever it is on most growth charts

continues to the age 64 if we are dead serious

talking about the growth plates in ur legs tho

it litterally has one job : create cartilage then bonify cartilage

ppl who end up short didnt manage to generate cartalage overtime

if the growth plate is open then he cartilage is still there that is the only reason to check wether its closed or not

edit: tldr conforming its open n supplimenting to create new cartillage is diy giagantism/ogrism

Its pretty easy to tell if you hit puberty later than >99.5% of guys so i dont know how you can think you have hope to grow after 18 if you know you arent a gigalatebloomer

5’5-5’9 12-13
5’9 - 5’10 between 13 & 17
now almost 18 and 5’11.5 recent growth
There’s still time if your parents are tall

Your probably not growing cus u went on a mega cut for no rreason
