If HGH doesn't work why do ppl with Gigantism and Acromegaly grow

Title. Maybe @SlayerJonas or smbody else could enlighten me since I'm a greycel. Why doesn't exogenous HGH grow you more than ~5cm but ppl with acro/gigantism are 7ft+?

because people with "gigantism" have had abnormally high hgh levels since birth.
its coded into their dna

people who inject usually have normal baseline levels throughout their life then they inject low dosages for a year, and not enough to actually cause major height growth. acro will only happen at high dosages for long periods of time
