If i have an underbite of 3mm what can i say to my orthodontist appt in 4 months to try in fix it.

My lower third or jaw region is recessed and i have a underbite of around 2.9-3.5mm (rough estimate). my parents had got me a appt in march 2026 to assess getting braces or not and im seeing people saying this will recess me even more or is a bad idea. ill be 15 when the appt happens and i know not to get any extractions.

At 15 theyre probably going to do camouflage, it wont fix your bones, only tilt your teeth to "fit" your bite. Its not going to ascend you, but there is a chance it will descend you. Make sure to communicate you want to pursue surgery once youre old enough

I’m just severely insecure and I wanna do anything in my power to leave mltn hell, every coping method I can. My face is so brutally ugly I can’t even smile properly
