If I have downward growth, wouldn’t a chin implant create an awkward shape?

My chin is recessed due to downward facial growth. I thought a chin implant would help but I keep thinking it might create a moon shape because my jawline faces downwards.

why do you even want a chin implant? just get bimax + genio

it will create this

Implants cause bone resorption, if your face is downgrown the only option to fix it is bimax + genio
What is that? And how much does that cost.

Have you thought about fillers?
Cheaper option for short-term but it’s only temporary so I’d rather just get an implant.. this is my situation, tell me what you think:

I wanna get a rhinoplasty as well. I know my nose is huge.

yeah no shit lol. because im trolling.

he has the 0.0.0.1% of facial growth.

chin implant could ever create that on downward growth.
If your jawline is downward wouldn’t they need to place the implant downward as well? You know, in order to avoid a crescent shape.

By any chance did you have any teeth extractions when you were young?
As a kid I had a few teeth pulled by dentists, I think they were due to rotting teeth because I ate a lot of candy and junk food.
As a teenager I got an implant (front tooth) because I lost it in a bmx accident. The surgeon had to to grafting as well.

A few!??
Which ones? Incisiors canines or molars?

if you are downgrown, then you need CCW occlusal plane rotation, not the chin implant

Interesting enough, I never got my molars pulled. I still have them.
Oh fuck no!
Look at this girl
She has a similar side profile to yours
Removal of incisors caused this trouble for her
In this article the doc suggested maxillary advancement as the treatment but later went on with tongue appliance

You should visit a surgeon or orthodontic
This website has barely got any qualified people for this intense questions
I tried to help with what I knew
Good luck dude! I hope it helps

Not molars but here incisors were removed
Shit so you’re telling me that my downgrowth could be due to my bmx accident? It happened at 16 btw.

And tbh I probably can’t even get any maxilla/jaw surgeries due to the grafting done for my front incisor..

Yes very well could be
Did you read that article?
I don't wanna be rude but do one of your parents have the same issue? Downswung Jaw, big nose

Yes. They'll just cut off part of the maxilla on operating table
Jfl nice sarcasm. But how does downgrowth even happen? It can’t be genetics because neither of my parents are downgrown.

My mother has a big nose, and my nose was big even before the accident. But my mother isn’t downgrown, nor is my father.
The nose is genetic, but the downgrowth may be due to my accident.

This is not sarcasm bro
to be honest, there can be no other than genetics. Your maxilla is just vertically too long

My mother has a big nose and my nose was always big even before the accident. But my other isn’t downgrown, nor is my father.
Than I believe that downgrown jaw is most probably due to bmx accident but again I am no doctor atleast not yet
You should consult a surgeon who specialises in maxillofacial surgery ASAP
I don't think someone that qualified is here on .org
You seem like you come from a developed country, should be easy for you

Yeah it sucks. But I at least have a better outlook now.. it’s not my genetics. But fuck this accident destroyed my life.

We all are victims of our situations
Can't be helped
Atleast you were fortunate enough to not carry this cancer in your DNA
I hope you manage to fix this problem and live a happy life ahead

Yup. Tell me what you think based on your assumption..

This was me one year after the accident (2016):

Me after 3.5 years, one year after my surgery (2019):

And me right now:

I can tell that my forward growth gradually depleted from my younger age to now, and my nose looks tremendously bigger and more hooked.
However, I look slightly better now than I did in 2019 due to practicing proper jaw placement, chewing hard gum + facial exercises and leanmaxxing.

Unfortunate story of a potential mogger just gone.

I’ll go to a maxiliofacial consultation just to make sure. But for now, I think my best option is just to get a rhinoplasty to improve facial harmony to some degree and just live with what I have. Maybe maxx to my best potential w more leanmaxxing, facial exercises and improved skin care.

I don’t think I have any side profiles of that but I’ll look around.

I might be wrong but I don't think facial exercises do anything

Slightly less chin development but it makes a lot of difference
Other than that I don't see any difference
Do you see anything else?
If you are fine with the way you looked earlier (looks good in my opinion)
Chin implant+Rhino would be sufficient
You were right all along
I apologise I just didn't have much info to work with
I was fixated more in decreasing the gonial angle to make it more aesthetic

Hmmm okay and I believe that bmx accident led to lack of proper development
I thought it led to complete downswing while that was not the case
You can still look like a baller if you have a good chin
I think Sean o pry has a high gonial angle as well

You’re right, there really is no difference. Maybe the left is just frauds by better lighting and healthier skin+no patchy facial hair.
But still, the left was one year after the accident, not prior to.

Does your jaw resemble more with your father or your mother?
Have you seen what they looked like when they were young?
