If I just told them how I really felt I would’ve been so much happier, I never wanted to go to school, just did so they would be happy

They think 4 years of uni is just a minigame that doesnt drain you and is not a waste of time no matter what your actual aspirations are

I feel you there, in my case though when you actually do grow balls and say what you want to say even when the consequences are quite severe, it definitely helps you get over that ‘hurdle’ to say whatever you want in future, I suppose it gives you a confidence rush (or at least me). Easier said than done though, of course.
