If I’m doing a 5 day gym split when should the rest day be

Should I do 2 rest days in a row or should I split it throughout the week
 
there never should be a rest day, damage your entire body forever and ever you gymcel
 
do 3 days on 1 day off 2 days on 1 day off, then repeat

if it’s a 5-day split, take the rest day after 2–3 days or at the end. common setups are 3 days on / 1 off / 2 on, or 5 days straight then 1–2 rest days. just don’t train the same muscles hard on back-to-back days and listen to recovery.
