Actually I am looking at people from far comparing my height, until 2 meters the perspective is still working but when I am close I end up taller or even, it is all cause of perspective and bad MOGGED victim posture looking down like a Casimodo 80% of the time

I understand why u feel that but i swear it is real, easy way to spot on, take a point below u and just look at it further and further, u will see for yourself when u get closer too, ur brain have an hard time to adjust to evaluate height from far

It is working to trick u when the height difference is around 10 centimeters or so below or above

If u want to see for urself, just estimate on the wall a virtual point of ur actual height and get closer of it, u will be surprised

I began my antihistaminic journey yesterday with Bilastine EG 20 mg, never treated allergias and was always bloated no matter my weight but never worried cause the symptoms eitherway were negligeable, but the blood test 2 weeks ago was a surprise, maybe it is the begin of a new life for me:

Until u test u wont understand, ur estimated height will be always around 10 centimeters less than the reality at the closest, cause ur brain estimates it with eyes for the sole fact

It is a matter of perspective and sense of spacial orientation not a matter of intelligence, until u aren't aware anymore like right now and go along with ur life u will get tricked again in the instantaneous moment when u will meet someone u don't know

Still here is the chatgpt answer :

Great observation—and it's a surprisingly common experience! Here's why it happens:

1. Depth Perception and Visual Angles

When you're far from a wall and try to estimate your height against it by picking a virtual point, you're relying on depth cues and visual angles, not direct comparison. Your brain doesn't have a perfect ruler; it estimates based on how things "look" from a distance.

As you get closer, the angle between your eyes and the virtual point changes, and your perception corrects. Suddenly, you're seeing yourself next to that point more directly, and you realize your initial estimate was off.

2. Height is Hard to Estimate from a Distance

Estimating vertical size (like height) without a reference object nearby is tricky. Walls don’t usually have features at regular intervals that you can compare to. So your brain guesses—and it's usually conservative.

3. Perspective Compression

From far away, vertical differences get compressed visually. This makes heights seem smaller than they really are. It's a form of foreshortening—a kind of visual illusion.

4. Anchoring Bias

Sometimes you unconsciously anchor to something on the wall—a switch, a painting, a line of bricks—without realizing it's lower than your actual height. You mentally “lock in” that spot as your height, and only realize the error when you walk up and your head is way above it.

TL;DR: From a distance, your brain has to guess your height based on visual perspective and limited depth cues. That guess is usually wrong—often too short—until you get closer and have a clearer reference.

Ever tried doing this with someone else’s height? It's even harder.

Never said it’s a myth, I just meant that most people know approximately other people’s height by afar :feelsyay:

Then it shouldn't be a common misconception, u are lucky to be and stay aware even in the attention span of a few seconds at most, otherwise u won't go out cause u get mogged everywhere
