this is also why I reject the individualist sentiment of hurr durr i pursue my interests alone or whatever, why would you seperate yourself from your nation when foreigners would not do so, and why would you seperate yourself from your nation when for example expansion into lands directly benefits you, (in order to settle these lands states would use temp interest free loans in return for you expanding, like how manifest destiny worked in reality with america actively encouraging people financially to move westward and settle.), why would you reject being part of that nation when it can benefit far more than operating as an individual alone. this is also exactly why we evolved moral systems that were only ever applied to ones group and had different values for outsiders (see the ancient greeks or romans)
