Title. If you have trouble interacting with people, are non-NT, can't talk propely, have social anxiety around groups, cannot speak up and put your point across in arguments. Best to avoid both. Unless it is some specialized in between role like Technical management or something very high iq analytical roles like quantitative analyst, or FP&A modeling roles.

I’d actually disagree. I work in finance in London and it helped me become a lot more NT and less socially anxious

Finance is easy for introverts

You sit at a desk and make spreadsheets

Do Tech. You will be interacting with one 1 or 2 people ma,.
I’m working in a place where you HAVE to interact with people and I’m doing fine socially I guess. Talking in front of people is so hard for me, not just beacuse I’m afraid but because I’m not charismatic at all.

That is what an actuary does. I was talking about investment banking, hedge fund, consulting etc. High finance not back office stuff

All those jobs are also sitting at a desk and making spreadsheets

Only middle levels and above do lots of interaction

But that's true for any industry

Honestly, if you're non NT and socially anxious, you'll have trouble in any industry. Finance though is all about the way you speak and how smart you sound while saying it, so yeah it's hell if you can't articulate yourself properly.

Do you think it is possible to become extroverted as an introvert?

fp&a involves a lot of human interaction, especially if you're the main analyst of a certain projects financials

True. So much of moving up the ladder requires navigating intricate office politics.
Having the best technical skills is not in and of itself enough.
