When you are sub-5 people have this preconception of you that you're timid and subservient, so if you help them they don't feel "grateful" for it, they just view you as playing your intended role of a slave and makes them lose respect for you even more.
So when people ask for help do your best NOT to help them, but of course there's some nuance involved, like if someone drops their pen next to you and you refuse to pick it up they will just view you as a freak because you don't have an excuse not to, but in most other cases like help with homework directions bus seat etc, either refuse to help them outright or give an excuse that sounds mostly BS, it's better to give a BS excuse than a believable one because it makes them know that you refuse to help them even though you can.
