I used to have the worst sleep schedule, staying up all night every single day for ~2 years. I would play games throughout the whole night and sleep at around 6-7am, or sometimes not sleeping at all. And I used to blame this on insomnia, but that just wasn't true at all.

How you see your sleep schedule is affecting your sleep, if you see the clock being at 9pm and think thats a good time to play games with your friends, you aren't treating your sleep seriously, which is why you don't have enough energy throughout the day or you feel like you can't fall asleep whatsoever.

Another thing that is ruining your sleep is inconsistent sleep schedule, if one night you sleep at 12am and the other at 3, you are again not taking your sleep seriously, and your melatonin levels are constantly being disrupted.

Just taking melatonin pills won't fix this, I never took them and I have no trouble sleeping now, I simply tried staying awake the whole night one day and then did all my things throughout the day and winded down at around 8pm, and I was incredibly exhausted of course, due to the lack of sleep, so I was already asleep at 9:30pm. And after that I have had no trouble sleeping early.

As long as your sleep schedule is consistent (roughly the same hours every day) and you sleep enough and well, the moment you go to sleep/wake up doesn't matter as much. Yeah if you wake up in the morning and go to sleep early it's typically better for your circadian rhythm but chronotypes do exist and some people are genuinely more comfortable going to sleep late and waking up late. Although there is obviously a limit to this, sleeping only when the sun is up and being awake only when the sun is down is antithetical to our internal mechanisms.

It all depends on your unique biochemical makeup. Obviously, waking up late is a privileged afforded to few people since the world is structured around early birds and not night owls.

Literally why would someone do this, why would you force yourself to sleep later and wake up later when doing the opposite would make your day 3x more productive. The only people who do that are lazy fucks who don't take their life seriously. You have more time to do things throughout the day, your testosterone levels also spike during the late mornings, which can also give you better workouts. You treat the night as a time to relax and wind down, because you have already done everything during the day.

If I went to sleep at 10pm I would wake up at 6-7 am no thanks.
I just do 11pm

That's the perfect time to wake up, humanity always woke up as the sun rose.
yh back when it actually had any meaning (to hunt and travel)
I have a routine and waking up at 6 makes every day just feel longer

Why shouldn't you make the day feel longer? Are you an unproductive fuck whos screen time is above 6h a day?

I get where you're coming from, but to be fair when I was in university I'd mostly study after dinner late into the night. Always got excellent results, it's simply the hour of day in which I find it easier to focus. The night's air is relaxing to me in the same way many other people find mornings energizing.

You do have a point for workouts though. Still, few people with a job are free to workout in the late morning anyways so it's kind of a moot point, no? It also has a marginal impact on your athleticism overall.

it depends on the person, sure normal sleep is important if you are still in puberty but after that it doesn't matter that much if you keep getting 8 hours.
I listened to conor mcgregor say he build his entire career in late nights training because that's when he felt the best, so went to bed late.

Good points, about the job thing though, it all really depends on the job that you're working and when you're working, if your job starts at 7-8 then again sleeping early would help you be more energized for work and lets assume you get home at 3-4, you'd still have enough time to eat, have a high intensity workout and wind down.

I used to enjoy working out late too, untill I started doing it earlier and felt more comfortable and confident.
