Your facial appearance is locked by bone, there is not much you can do to change your face and your ratios. But there is one thing, Illusions. They can be used to alter your ratios and make you look better.
1. FWHR
The ideal FWHR is around 1.9
If you have a low FWHR which is a narrow skull, you can use hair to your advantage. Things like bangs, to cover a big forehead, and growing out your sides while also keeping not much volume on the top, can make your skull much wider. I have a pretty narrow skull, my FWHR is around 1.7 maybe 1.8 if i get lucky. This really helps to make my face look wider, and really improves my looks by covering my massive forehead.
If you have a narrow skull a haircut like this can make you look better.
If you have a high FWHR which is a wide skull, hair can also be used to your advantage. Basically by doing the opposite of the above section, like keeping the sides completely flat and almost no volume, and adding volume on the top, while also reavealing your forehead, can improve your FWHR to make it closer to ideal.
If you have a wide skull a haircut like this can make you look better.
2. PFL
A narrow PFL is considered unideal, and eyelashes can give you the illusion of a wide PFL.
I'm sure youve already heard about all of the lashmaxxing tips, but didnt know they could also fix your pfl. If you havent heard them here they are.
Using minoxidil on your lashes can make them grow thicker, but dont use them if you have pets. There are other, weaker alternatives.
Darkening your lashes with a black lash dye can also make your PFL look wider.
Curling your lashes up and out can also do the same effect for your PFL.
3. Shortening your face
Your eyebrows and facial hair can both give you the illusion of a shortened midface and philtrum.
Thick eyebrows can give the illusion of a lower set, and can also make the eye area look more down on your face, this works good with bangs.
Facial hair, and mustaches, can make your philtrum less noticeable and giving you the illusion of a wider face. Bushy facial hair can make your face look wider, and can also hide many falios which we wont talk about.
4. Lower third illusions
Using makeup on your jawline, slightly darker then your skin tone, drawn slightly below your jawline can make it look like you have a defined, and sharp mandible.
Exposing your neck with a open-collared shirt or other kind of shirt can elongate the neck, separating the chin from the neck and make a double chin or recessed chin look slightly less pronounced.
Tldr, how to use illusions to your advantage
