If you could be instantly good at any creative field, which would you choose?

I mean just asking, for example, I'm very into modeling and fashion design, but honestly it's not something I'd pursue out of a passion, I'm not cut to be a model, and frankly it's too late for me to be thinking about designing clothes, but if I could snap my fingers and instantly develop the cognitive or physical traits needed to do a skill I think I'd like to be a model honestly.

Curious to know about anyone else's interests here

you can still learn it as a hobby making clothes is really fun
my studies are also not related to what im truly passionate about because i felt like its useless to study fashion haha

Yeah, I have a passion for fashion in some sense, I can also sketch a little because I was forced to learn engineering sketching, which kind of translated in me having some abilities for fashion sketching.

Despite that I decided I should go for what's secure, I don't think I'd cut it to be the next fashion great, passion doesn't pay the bills sadly. I do hope that when I get more free time I can at least give it a fair shot

Well 50/50, CS or SE engineerings not finding jobs is mostly a meme, but there's just way too many guys in the career nowadays. I was doing pretty well even before getting a degree doing some freelancing stuff, and even managed to get a few small gigs while in college, nothing crazy but I think I have some kind of talent, and a very considerable portfolio, so I'm not going to struggle to find jobs later on

PLUS TRUST ME WITH THE NEW AI BOOM, there are going to be a shit ton of tech/AI startups really soon (you just have to see what kind of startups VC funds like Y Combinator are looking to support, basically all AI), so it's a pretty great time to get into CS or SE and specializing in AI.

I was considering Business but then decided that I was actually better suited for technical skills, if I ever get to a high position or decide to start my own business I just don't see myself doing it without a technical skill.

Yeah, honestly I think it's pretty viable, I hope to become an entrepreneur one day through a tech startup, but before that I need actual job experiences, connections and a solid income base, but even now I'm preparing myself with the skills I'll need later.

If you're interested in being a tech entrepreneur, or you're just interested in working in the field without all the stress of actually having a business then being a designer, using Figma and doing UX/UI is not exactly a bad idea and can actually pay you VERY well. Not everyone can do visually aesthetic and usable design nowadays, and you don't even need to go to college for it.

So yeah, I think if you relearn those skills, you could at least give a shot at doing commission work on the side and see how you do. When it comes to actual employment though, I'd suggest you try to seek startups then again, major companies basically all have designers working there for years, and ones likely more experienced than you are, but tech startups will always be in service of a good designer because it's pretty fundamental to selling a good product people want to use

Oh ok good to hear, thanks for the breakdown. My goal is to eventually transition into a PM/PMM type role, which I hear is good for people with at least some rudimentary design + programming knowledge
