If you could choose a different era to live in

If you could choose a different era to live in which one would it be?

  • Prehistory

  • Early ancient (Mesopotamia, early Ancient Egypt)

  • Late Ancient (Ancient Greece and Rome)

  • Early Middle Ages/Dark Ages

  • Middle Ages

  • Early modern period (1500-1700)

  • Middle modern period (1700-1800)

  • Late modern period (1800-1910)

  • Recent past (1920-1960s)

  • Current. Things may be blackpilled but at least I have a good standard of living & modern technology

Thinking about everything that's happening with the black pill, hypergamy, decline of the West and masculinity, collapse of society etc. Where do think you would experience a more fulfilling and meaningful life, and a healthier society, as a man? Assuming you would have a somewhat decent social position. Not a king or something, but not a peasant/slave either.

We don't know what the future will be like, it could be a utopia that will make 2024 look like a dark age, an era of technological horrors beyond human imagination or post-apocalyptic. We know what those past eras were like. Unless you accept that uncertainty and would be willing to take the gamble.

Wild west era

Where is 1960-2010?

What was the 1700-1800 era then
Age of Enlightenment in Europe, pre-Revolutionary/Revolutionary era in the US. One of the most important and interesting eras and where the foundations of the modern world were sown, but still a bit rough and medieval.

For some reason I’m obsessed with the period 1800-1850. I love the fashion and architecture of that era, so probably then. Top hats are so cool. The age of revolutions is a blend between the old and modern world and an interesting transitionary period both socially, technologically and politically that would be interesting to experience. That period also feels like it has a nice balance between civilization and nature, while now it feels unnatural, like the world is overpopulated, culturally downgraded, we spoil too much nature and it feels like a civilizational decline in the west. I have an obsession with collecting Daguerreotypes from the 1840s and 1850s for example, because that world still feels distant and close at the same time. The architecture and fashion is my ideal, buildings and cities were human-sized and not overtly big and enormous. Other than that probably the Viking age or renaissance. Being a viking and experiencing raiding the medieval Kingdoms back then would be cool.

The modern world is probably the best period to be alive in history, but there’s just so much stuff to it that I don’t like. Mainly culturally and demographically. I miss a balance between civilization and nature, and I miss beauty, because it feels like we don’t value that at all now.
