If you could choose to not know how old you are, would you do it?

If you had the option to not know your age, would you do it?

I would, in a heartbeat. How incredibly liberating that must be, not knowing how old you are.
We are socialized to believe that by a certain age, you have to be doing certain things, be living a certain life, to have achieved certain things.
If you don't meet those age-related goals, you can start feeling depressed, sad, and anxious. This is how the majority of people are...

All because you've been tracking your age. And age IS just a number. Obviously, none of us are going to be young forever, we are all going to show some signs of ageing eventually. But not everybody ages at the same rate... Therefore, age can be an unhealthy thing to be too fixed on.

Particularly if you're a male. If you're a female, and you wanna have children, then yes, it is important to keep track of your age. But as a male? It's not so important, in my opinion.

So no. I don't want to not know my age

It is important to know your age so you can demand to be treated with respect of such

whether or not you knew your age it would still be contingent upon your looks I would imagine, and the way people treat you will also reinforce this

I suppose that would indeed be the case and not much would change with regard to how people are going to treat you in the end.

But I do believe that you're only as old as you look.
That's why I don't really see the point in knowing my actual age anyway as it is much more important how old I look.

Yeah it would takeaway the stress of knowing. Knowing you have to achieve this by then, knowing you’re gonna die soon

We have to try not to let it affect us, obviously, but that isn't going to work ALL the time, irrespective of what other people may say or think.
This affects literally everyone who knows how old they are, at least to some degree.

^ Basically this.

You will want to eliminate as much stress from your life as possible to maximize your quality of life, health etc. and not knowing your age can certainly be very helpful in that regard.

no information is power

Is this assuming you can get by without knowing your age? Many applications involve your age.
