Nuclear winter can't kick up the required material to block the sun for even a month straight. There are around 12700 nuclear devices that exist and assuming that each and everyone has the ICBM range to circumnavigate the entire Earth and a yield of 15 megatons(Castle Bravo) then that is barely 190500 megatons which in turn is 190 gigatons of energy. The Chicxulub impactor is nearly a 1000 times more potent and that still didn't life wipe the surface. However to be fair that killed anything larger than a rat due to depleted oxygen levels and less energy would be needed to wipe every human. Of course you have to remember that the first example I gave you of the 190 gigatons figure is a exaggerated figure as most nuclear devices are barely Castle Bravo yield and are instead a couple hundred kilotons to single digit megatons and also not all bombs are actually operational so the real figure would be like 10 gigatons of destruction. This is not enough to cause a severe Nuclear winter.
