If you lie in the intersection and also have technical skills on top like if you know how to use AI tools, can do some basic coding, and understand a business function like marketing, accounting, law, or operations, you're hot shit right now. Companies are begging for people like this but they are few and far between

CPA is getting automated

But a guy with CPA qualification is still needed for approval for many compliance standards with rise of tech startups in bay area specially catering to AI and adjacent fields. Companies now are specially head hunting fo accountants that understand soc type 2 compliance for this reason. There are a lot of tools, websites, and AI websites like Dart that can do this but a CPA stamp is still required

Exactly. It's for liability. AI tools can prep everything and do like 85% of that work but they can't be held professionally or legally responsible if something's wrong which is why human attestation is needed

Do you think its a field where you can work remotely? Im currently studying accounting and finnance in a 4 year degree. Which personal fields did u go into?
If you somehow get into Big 4 firms that is a possibility but generally not as remote friendly as tech jobs.

I am Techcel. But what I know FP&A and compliance/risk is hot rn. The compliance + tech overlap is the hottest one rn. Many startups need SOC 2 and other compliance standards to close enterprise deals. They generally take the help of websites like these. CPA + tech is a rare combo. If you learn this you can command very high salaries

So would you say a 4 year accounting and finnance degree is worth it in todays society despite how everyone talks badly about degrees these days?
