they should transition to nuclear fusion but never will cuz usa is in permanent war economy

if nuclear energy is used (the current one) it will be a lot easier to transition to nuclear fusion due to ease in funding (if general energy is more productive, much less government spending, so more money to grants for investing in fusion)

if standard nuclear energy is used or people are convinced, i think it's possible to get fusion in common use much sooner, regardless of war
