Its based on a flawed idea of human psychology where your country is baby sitting you as much as possible, it definitely means you are happier, when its unironically the opposite, humans need goals and struggle, if you are fully content it makes cortisol drop which causes depression. The pursuit for money/fame/status is what makes you happy not already being wealthy. Example two 18yo guys, one is born in a rich family, the other is poor. The second one starts getting rich slowly in his 20's while the first guy doesn't cause he is already rich or does but the differences now between rich and more rich aren't nearly as rewarding as going from poor to rich
