contrast theory, brown/darker skin goes with blue/green eyes . Almost always ethnik coloring with lighter eyes (even hazel ones) looks better. It is obvious of course because contacts don't look natural, even the best ones. They can hide dilated pupils, also there is always some pixelation when up close. ColorCl has a more realistic pattern not going to extreme and blending the blue color with the normal brown eyes. But eventhose give off the bug eye effect.

Yeah certain brands and colors obviously look worse. If you go for contacts it's very tempting to try to find a color that is very light or striking cause u want dat eye color halo, when in reality u should aim for realistic cause the danger of it looking too fake isnt worth it.

When i first went for blue contacts i went for a really really light color and got called out the first day I wore them by like 4 people so I went for a more realistic darker blue and hardly get called out. It's still a huge halo cause anything is better than dark brown/black eyes
