We orthodox focus on revelation and the apologetics from the saints and scripture which aid our points, Roman Catholics instead go against this and create their own silly interpretations with Catophatic theology acting like they can explain what the divine substance of God is.


So the “mystery” of orthodoxy is more of a term more than overt “We just dunooooooo” we have our own scholastics we just know when to press the breaks, unfortunately western Christian’s especially Protestants seem to not know how to do this and that’s why Protestants believe stupid shit but they inherited this mindset from Roman Catholics which were one. FYI most of us view the 6k earth thing as Hyperbalie and an metaphore, for example in psalms it says “God owns 1k hills” we know he owns everything but the word 1k the word 6k is to refer to how LONG and how MUCH he owns.

So the 6000 year thing is just descriptive language to say “The earth is very fucking old son “ there are a few who don’t believe this and take it literal but it’s RARE

I heard someone use an analogy (regarding catholics) saying catholicism is is the perfect map to a destination, and other denominations are a less perfect map but can get you to your destination. Do you feel a similar way about orthodoxy?
