We dont know the odds, they likely just got unlucky and know everyones crying using results-based-analysis. What if the trading firm wouldve 5x'd the money? What if this was a 1/1000 chance situation?

If he won the "gamble", he wouldve donated it to charity. for the greater good, worth the gamble. I wouldhave done the same thing.

Gambling everything is actually legit.
If he wagered all the "unsecured funds" in ftx earn programs and lost it all, his company would still go under and he wouldnt be able to donate charity anymore. same outcome other than jail time, which he doesnt care about, as a effective altruist

given that SBF seemed way too laid back and non-conscientious for a CEO, it was probably something like a simple BOT / CODING error. Not intentional fraud. bump this post when the trial ends and see for yourself. He will be found not fully guilty.
