Don’t base your actions off idiots on this forum. Research the necessities of MARPE and headgear and then ask an Orthodontist if you have those necessities without telling him what you plan on doing. If he says yes, than definitely do them, as the orthodontist would’ve done MARPE and Headgear if he was smart if you qualified.

Are these people orthodontic specialists who’ve went to school and have studied orthodontics for years? Most likely not. You should only be listening to healthcare specialists for confirmation if we’re being straight forward. Most healthcare specialists are against treatments that they consider to be “Aggressive.” And this standpoint has affected a lot of people, including me, especially when it came for my Orthodontist to install an Herbst Appliance and he didn’t think twice before ignoring my overbite. Only look to medical specialists for confirmation on why you should take an “aggressive treatment.” Never if you should take an “aggressive treatment.” See what I said there. They’ll tell you you’re recessed but won’t do MARPE. Great, a medical specialists just said you’re recessed and is unwilling to treat it despite the fact your paying them. Do the treatment than.

I’d request MARPE than. Your Orthodontist clearly doesn’t want to give you MARPE as instead of directly answering your question, he gave a “only of your sutures are open.” Type of answer. You need to do MARPE if he confirms that you have the requirements for it. If he refuses to do MARPE, ask him why and if he still refuses you need to straight up say you want the treatment.
