hairloss, HPTA dysregulation, heart arrhythmias (especially when people start eating again after being anorexic due to electrolyte shifts that happen), growth issues, osteoporosis. It depends how underweight you are too. Probably not that much is gonna happen for someone at a BMI of 18

? I don't force anyone to stay alive. Also, the majority of medical care goes towards people who are no longer contributing much if anything in terms of taxes.

Feels good man. Luckily I don't have the IQ for that level of introspection.

There's definitely a lot of betabuxxing in medicine. My GF makes 4-5x what I do currently, so I'm not too worried about it myself.

Ninja nerd science is a really good youtube channel for learning physio. I also read costanzo, watched boards and beyond, and used the zanki anki deck to help retain and memorize information.

Hardest subject is personal. I think most people would say neuro, cardio, and renal are the most conceptually difficult. I struggled the most with ob-gyn stuff, mostly because I had minimal interest learning about it and couldn't really motivate myself.

Honestly, it's a bit of a handicap when it comes to 3rd/4th year grades. A large portion of your grades on clinical rotations are subjective, and attractive NT people tend to fair better. Many people in medicine are introverted, awkward, and unattractive though, so I wouldn't worry too much.

In terms of actual practice, it probably means you should stay away from specialties where a big emotional connection / emotionally charged convos might be more important, so I'd avoid psychiatry, oncology, palliative care. You'd probably do fine in surgical fields, internal medicine and most fields. If you really want to avoid patient interaction, radiology and pathology are good looks. Dermatopathology, if you're smart/hard-working enough to hack it, pays absolute bank.

Hard to say. It's definitely on an individual basis. I've seen good results from OMFS, plastics, and ENTs specializing in facial plastics, so I think all are viable. Again, I'm not a surgeon, so I'm probably not the best resource for this though.

For me, it was liking the work and material. I struggle to motivate myself to do things I'm not interested in, so doing 60-80 hours of work/week I like was better than 50 hours coding or writing briefs.

As I said earlier, not gonna get into it due to some beliefs held on here. I'll say that I have watched an otherwise healthy 32-year-old ask if it was too late to get vaccinated just before getting intubated and later dying. So yeah I'm vaccinated.

I started browsing the bodybuilding forums when I started lifting as a teenager and that eventually led me to PSL type forums. Lots of autistic bullshit to sort through, but I learned a lot about aesthetics, machiavellianism, fitness etc that I don't think I would have learned elsewhere.

We had our first summer off- like 6.5 weeks in total? Most school have built in 2-8 week blocks to study dedicated for step 1/2 after years 2/3. I took mine earlier both times and got 2-3 weeks off after each. End of fourth year is pretty chill and I got another ~6 weeks off at the end.

Thoughts on hghmaxxing/acromegalymaxxing

Depends on goals and would only recommend if reliable pharma grade can be afforded/sourced with routine lab work. Ie: probably not applicable to the majority here or anywhere.

- Low dose (2 iu) for qol/fat loss/recovery etc- legit. Will probably run later in life when I have the funds personally

- HGH during puberty to maximize height also legit, but the vast majority this would apply to won't be able to afford it or be properly monitored.

- hgh to acromegalize and coarsen facial features. Technically could work but probably not worth costs/risks vs just getting surgery

You should read scientific studies yourself and evaluate if they are bullshit or not
