I can t link any studies which show that you should chew on the molars but:
-it s commob sense if you look in the mirror while chewing to see which muscles get activated.
-it is in the chisell handbook, to chew on the molars.

I don't know about incisor chewing but I end up chewing 4 pieces on my molars and that works much better. Have to drink water every so often to bring at least some of the hardness back.
