I'm about to start RU, but considering a transplant in a few months. I only want to use RU for like a year, so I'm concerned either a) I will get some gains that will then not be transplanted on, and I will lose them after quitting, or b) I will be below baseline due to shedding, and the transplant will then damage existing hair follicles that would come back

You realise that people that get hair transplants are still going to be using 5AR inhibitors post-transplant, right?
So you will either be using RU-58841 indefinitely, and/or a 5AR inhibitor indefinitely, post-transplant.
May as well start now.

I already take fin and dut. I'm trying RU as a desperate attempt for regrowth, as I've seen claims about it. Not expecting anything tho, and don't want to use RU long term

My temples are thinning

you're on fin arent you? its fine. no surgeon will do like the minimal amount of grafts needed. it's just not worth it imo.
I've consulted one place so far and they wanted to lower the whole hairline with 1200 grafts. I was only looking for the temples

yeah 'cus its not erally worth filling in the temples from a cost perspective. they get what like 300-500 bucks for hours of work of extermely concentrated for the minimal grafts needed. you might need to shvave a bit as well if yhtey don't do unshaven transplant which will looksmin for months or evne a year.

Costs in the clinics I'm looking at tend to start from around £3k as the base rate. Also, while a full shave can make it easier for the surgeon, partial shaves are common, especially for mild cases, where they just shave the back and sides. U can just get a high fade, take a week or two off work, and go back with a regular normie fade

Taking both fin and dut is redundant. Just take dut.
Take RU-58841 for now, whilst you're on dut. You don't need a hair transplant with where you're at rn bro :feelsyay:

@imontheloose said I did:feelswhat:
The reason I'm also hesitant to try minoxidil is the same. I'd have to give it at least 6 months before trying a transplant, and the minox could fuck with the transplant by causing the illusion of more hair (minox dependent) or causing excess shedding after stopping min, which would then require waiting a few months before a transplant

If you want, just don’t take minoxidil. RU is simply going to fight your scalp’s androgens; it doesn’t induce growth on its own. The point of it possibly regrowing is based off of your hair liking the androgen-free zone and coming back since it’s a calmer environment. You’ll be fine.

Can easily be stopped/slowed with dut and RU + topical minoxidil

How much the HT cost?
Can be stopped, but I want regrowth
Transplant would be around £4k

How come some people (including on here) claim "hair gains" within a couple of months of using it then? My suspicion is utter larp. Any regrowth would take at least 3 months, anything noticeable probably 6+

A mix of LARP, mistaking correlation for cause and effect, and then true claims. Some will notice early regrowth as the hairs will still very much be alive and can entirely recover in a nicer environment (less androgens).

I noticed minoxidil regrowth quite early on, around month 3, but minoxidil is a regrowth agent and the best we are aware of. Note that this is very individual.
