why does my philtrum looks smaller in some pics and in some bigger and more prominent? The positions I took the selfies are they same, just on different days

first two pics it looks small and normal and in ther other two it looks big
btw in the last pic it‘s just zinc creme because of a pimple

You shouldn't worry about the pics, just go ahead and save up for the surgery. You know it's long and this is basically coping whether you will admit to it or not.

Do you think a lip lift will work in a case like this? i.e. his upper lip isn't overly thin, so I'm curious if a lip lift may fuck up his facial harmony or just produce DSL's?

Personally, I don't think a long philtrum is the worst aesthetic feature a person can have. However, what seems to make a long philtrum so devastating is the fact that there's often little that can be done to correct it without fucking up facial harmony and looking worse. Ultimately, you can't surgically shorten the length of the midface.

Subnasale lip lift, or you can look into what @Golden Glass as stated above.

There are surely “top tier” specialists out there, like Taban is for eye area. I just don’t know any names tbh.
