I see these as seperate ideologies. To have 0 trust in people doesn't mean you don't strive for improvement or appreciate things for qhat they are. Not trusting others doesn't make you a doomer. It's not this white and black.

I take an approach of being pessimistic of things and skeptical but realistic and at the same time I hope for the best. My goal is to alqays be improving and give thanks for the things I do have. Yet, I realize the reality of our situation in that our reality is going to continue to worsen until one day it finally gets better. I trust very few people as it does take a long time to earn my trust and only one entity has my absolute trust and that's GOD. This approach can save your wealth, resources and potentially your life. It's being realistic, and optimistic simultaneously.

There's a fine line of having extreme pessimism and believing everything is doomed to fail but it's smart to consider the worst case scenarios are a potential possibility but hope for the best and do yourr best to ensure the best scenario comes to fruition.
