Can't stop thinking about that SBS segment. This 37-year-old woman has no full-time job, pays $700 a week in rent — that's over $36,000 a year — and says she's 'happy renting forever' because she doesn't want to be 'locked down.' She claims she has no income, yet she's got savings, buys heaps of coffees, energy drinks and protein bars after run club every day, and just hops on a plane to another country whenever she feels like it.

Then she says she 'wouldn't even know how to go about getting a mortgage' and that 'someone in a bank must take care of it.' Mate, that's not how any of this works. She doesn't mention borrowing power once. She's 37, not 23 — how has this been sustainable for years? The contradictions are wild: no income but unlimited spending, massive fixed costs but acts like it's all chill, 'no assets' but somehow never runs out of cash.

This isn't a story about young people struggling, she's nearly 40. It feels like pure rage bait designed to make boomers think 'see, they're doing fine, why should we help?' Either she's got family money she's not mentioning or the whole thing's heavily edited for clicks. Either way, the math does not add up and it's pissing me right off.

The main thing that made me so triggered is that it'll brainwash boomers into thinking "all GenZ are like her.. don't want to work... unlimited savings (somehow), $35-50k a year paid to rent, "GenZ don't even want children but are more financially free than asset holders".

This seems like boomer propeganda. I will escalate. Am contacting SBS Australia right now to remove the episode or come out with a disclaimer that it was a dramatisation.

Yeah makes no sense. "Travels incessantly while paying the highest possible sea-front rent, while only organising runclub events and not receiving a salary"...

She never mentioned giving the landlord notice if the property would be vacant for more than a few weeks.

SBS Australia propeganda is far worse than 2015-2022 era CNN propeganda

I'm quite confused I cannot view the video even though I live in Australia. Are you sure this wasn't made by anybody else?

Exactly dude.

If I was in the audience I actually might've gone POSTAL ngl :lul:

People like her make boomers believe people in their 20s are rich BECAUSE they don't have a mortgage.

Shit makes me want to water torture nepo babies until they make public admission videos of what secret balance sheet is underwriting them, with the exact mechanics.

It's fucking brutal though. Are they all nepos like this?

Who's underwriting her spending and indefinite fixed costs?

The weird vibe is that she acts like she is "free", but the $36k AUD of fixed rent alone, alongside 0 income already puts her at a negative $36k a year cashflow.. And that's not counting for basic food, her post-run club coffees, protein bars, gym memberships, spontaneous holidays and flights to London, Paris etc... and even the COST of running the run club, as someone else here mentioned..

I would've trashed the set, I literally would have gone mental if I was in the crowd :lul::lul::lul:

She obviously gets money from her parents. It’s really not as rare as you think. Many girls I’ve known got pretty substantial allowances, though not to this level.

Family wealth is really everything now, work doesn’t pay enough to have any semblance of a life or to build up a decent investment portfolio and salaries don’t compound to anywhere near the same amount as investments do.

WHY AM I SO TRIGGERED???

Dude many Western women today are like this they're all obsessed with Traveling, particularly to Bali for some
reason ? like 5 out of 10 women on my IG Feed this instant are currently in Bali or just came from Bali and are
now at some high end Lounge/Bar with their Friends spamming Reels

I thought most of us on this site were already aware that many Modern Women are mini celebs, and I preface
all this to say that the girl in that video is more than likely being sponsored by various strangers in her dms,one
of whom will more than likely be her meal ticket to settle down with and exonerate her from all her
Debts/Spending

You'll have a trust fund as bottomless as a sovereign wealth fund if you're nepo. You'll never have to own anything and will have unlimited access to Daddy's money, never have kids and be happy.

So brutal lmaooo

And yeah idk why the obsession with spamming IG reels in Bali.

What triggers me is she's been doing this shit for 15-16 years. Just using parents money and not converting it into durable ownership.

That's worse than anything. For society as a whole, not just for her.
