Im Getting a Bimax Paid for by Insurance

Sometime in the fall im getting a bimax, just waiting on my orthodontist to get me in braces so that my teeth will be aligned for the surgery.
I documented most of my experience and everything I did to get to this point on .com because I couldn't get accepted here for the longest time. But I would just get dnrd because everyone there is retarded.
Anyone else have any experiences or tips they could give me relating to the surgery?

did you have sleep study done already? i had mine done and i have on mse right now, my surgeon is aiming for 6mm mse expansion then djs insured and genio cosmetically added.

yeah already had the sleep study done, my surgeon doesnt think mse is necessary even though i want to. He has suggested genio which would be awesome, but we havent 100% decided on the plan for the surgery yet.

i appreciate it man, honestly if your surgeon believes mse isnt necessary his mindset for that belief is for medical necessity not beauty necessity so he doesnt understand why need it. I recommend being very hesitant and pushy to allow mse as its your cheapest way anyways for a good quality if its insured, the genio is nice since its fully adjustable for advancement amount so you can choose yourself how much your chin is projected. If he INSISTS on no mse then you have two options of which are to either stay with him or leave and find another IN-NETWORK insured surgeon within your insurance that WILL allow MSE.

he has been pretty cool about aesthetics besides the mse. On the first consultation he talked to me about how aesthetics are a part of the function of the face and how he wants me to like how it looks. He also suggested a genio without me saying anything about it, hopefully if i talk to my orthodontist and speak to him about mse he might be able to get the surgeon to be fine with it. But if not I will probably just stay with the surgeon as he has been pretty cool about everything else.
