Plus your teachers have been conditioned with mediocre students, seeing one student wit good grades would make the student seem like a genius. Compete competitively in national or provincial championships in some rigorous course. If you place near the top, you will probably have a shot at being a noteworthy physicist instead of an avg researcher.

I had the same idea as you last year. I chose the most challenging math program at my school, and now, at the end of the year, I regret my decision.
I'm not gonna be doing exams, i'm 17 and ill finish hs at 19, ill learn for now since they are interesting, that will allow me to get into any uni easily, then i can choose a different path, all good jobs require math anyways

Both my parents are very smart, my mom got max grades in school and has a phd and my dad got a scolaeship into the best uni in the country where he was born while beeing poor af, he was studing while working in a factory and other jobs
