from anecdote and from the studies we know higher reps build as much muscle, and 5 reps doesn't build "strength" really that well. 5s are not heavy enough to teach you to strain against a maximal weight but they are still taxing on ur body like 1rms are. they are good for the absolute beginner and no one else. now i just base my training around training maxes and then doing 10s or even 20s.

10-15 reps is best imo

its good for novices

past that point id do higher for supplemental work and just not do rep work at all on DLs etc.

All rep ranges have their place tbh

6-8 is my fav rep range, moving heavier weights feel better for me, and you reach the reps that "really matter" soon. Doing 15 reps where the first 12 are relatively easy gets a bit boring for me and more time consuming as well.

I mostly do 20 reps sets

Also 1 minute rest

I thought 8-12 was the golden standard. Who the fuck came up with the idea to do 3-6 reps when it has been scientifically known for decades that 8-12 reps is optimal for hypertrophy

all rep ranges have their place in a lifter's training block during same or different times

Sets of 8-12 reps are best for most lifts.
