I found out the definition means “Not in Employment, Education or Training”

So this is a way of life or what? Is it always an unfortunate situation? (Are there fortunate NEETs and does early retirement constitute NEET?)

Does NEET include Instagram influencers who basically just get paid to travel and post about it?

its just a description for your employment status (or lack thereof). doesn't mean you have to be a basement dweller necessarily.

When you are a neet you hate it but once you are no longer one you realize how good it was

Been NEETing for years, I just ended up this way, didn't plan any of it
Got into college, didn't do well at it (for obvious reasons) eventually dropped, as my family was not poor, there was no pressure for me to look for a job, got too comfortable and used to the situation, it ain't bad, when I think that I could be working min wage right now, spending 9 hours of my days being humiliated by a boss and getting cortisol spikes, I don't feel too bad about it, but I realize it can't be like this forever

So what do you think you will do?

There's something permanently unfortunate about it because you aren't living by your own means.

If your parents are rich then you're better off than a NEET from a poor 3rd world country with mediocre opportunities to get anywhere.
Both are Neets but you can see what they have in common and the differences.

And no, it does not include anyone who is able to generate money. If anything instagram influencers are ahead of the curve lmao.

Neeting is the dumbest thing you can do physically and mentally for yourself especially as a man

NEET is more of a socio economic status, usually a young unnattactive male on the outskirts of society (not in employment or school)

This is what people think.

They tend to think they are beating the system by not providing any benefit and accepting welfare.

I personally find it the worst way of living for a young male. I was actually unemployed for 8 months a few yesrs back and rejected by 30 job interviews (no one wants to hire an ugly ethnic when the other cannidate is a hot blonde) so understand their situation.

An Instagram influencer is seen in society as self employed or a freelancer. And doesnt have any negative stereortypes.

I urge people who are NEET if they want to get back at the system , open your own company, learn how to avoid taxes, take advantage of loopholes etc. There is countless ways.

Wouldn't be surprised if more people started withdrawing from society in the west; wonder if the US will become the next japan in terms of neets.

I think this cant truly be answered with something specific. There are countless opportunities but you need to have the eye for it and means to execute it. If you cant see it maybe it means you can't make it work either.

Yes, there are tons of celebrities who are basically NEET like Paris Hilton, the Kardashians, Dan Bilzerian, etc.

Just a depressing way of living
Literally going outside and coming in contact with another person, would give me huge cortisol spikes
especially women.
My anxiety never improved no matter how much my job forced me to interact with people
Neeting has literally been the best thing to happen to me.

Yes, the Japanese are one or two decades ahead of the rest of the world, whatever happens there including the bad things will eventually happen in the West too...

This tbh. It depends on the specific business and scenario. I will say most succesful businesses are never "clean" as they seem.

They really can't be in any first-world country with all the roadblocks to success which policymakers have imposed. The red tape is getting to the point we should start disregarding it all and treat it as just artificial nonsense printed on paper.

This is also a reason why traveling to third world coutries to do legal business in a less regulated environment is appealing. Unfortunately we can't travel in time but we can travel in space for a similar effect.

Yes, i have noticed how incredibly difficult its become over the past 30 to 40 years to build wealth. The system just gets tighter with fewer grey areas each decade.

My mums friend is now a multi millionaire as he bought a few houses on his credit card back in the 80s and dodgy mortgages. Now literally impossible. Essentially the system wants you to be a wage cuck with a mortgage your whole life.

Two good advices for young men is that we are now entering the biggest wealth transfer from old to young, and an asset reset (essentially a forest fire) so acquiring assets over the next decade will be much cheaper i.e housing.

However starting a company now or investing is financial suicide best to wait a few years for everything to bottom out.

It’s literally one of the fastest pathway to mental illness

don’t take my word for it just read up on what isolation does to the brain and observation from r/neets or r9k etc
