When we look at photos or videos of ourselves, sometimes our face looks different than it does in real life. One key reason for this is something called lens distortion, which affects how cameras capture images. This distortion can change the way your zygomatic bones (your cheekbones) and other facial bones appear, even though your actual bones havenโ€™t changed at all.

Let me explain in detail how this happens, so you can understand the difference between images taken with lens distortion and those without it, and why this matters when evaluating your facial structure.Think of the last time you took a selfie with your phone held very close to your face. Did your nose or cheeks look larger or โ€œweirderโ€ than usual? Thatโ€™s lens distortion.

Ok, thanks, didn't know really how lens distortion worked or how it affected my zygomatic bones
