I belive that at 16 you shouldn't get into stocks or crypto. That takes significant skills, market knowledge and some level of maturity, you can try, but most people who get into these things statistically end up just losing money and quitting early, you're much more likely to be another statistic than succeed.

These things (with all due to respect) are big man's game, and they require some level of initial investment before you start seeing the results, which you probably don't have, and TRUST ME, you'll lose a lot of money. Ideally don't get into these kinds of highly volatile investments now, you're likely not going to make any profit at all.

It's not smart.

what about investing?

what about investing?
It depends on the type of investment. Buying crypto or stocks IS a form of investing, but most investments that are worth it for beginners either require a significant amount of capital or take a long time to yield meaningful returns.

At 16, you'd likely benefit far more from starting a side hustle, learning entrepreneurial skills, and developing valuable abilities (like communication, rhetoric, and sales, etc.). Getting educated and preparing for college can also set you up for long-term success. Not only can these efforts lead to early business success, but they also build a strong foundation for future financial growth.

To be clear, I'm not saying you shouldn’t invest at all, if you do thorough research or get lucky, you might see some profit. But with limited capital and experience, the risks just aren't worth the potential losses. If you're serious about building wealth, focus first on developing skills and gaining experience.

You can always start investing seriously once you have the knowledge and resources to do it properly. This of course doesn't sound fun, or is the rhetoric you see shared by grifter "day traders" on TikTok trying to sell you a course, but this is the most realistic way. Life isn't fun and success is hard, long and often demoralizing, get used to it :D

Just as a further research, I wish that at your age I would've started some sort of side hustle early, not because it would've made me money (being real with you, at 16 you ain't making a single penny from anything you do, I mean maybe you do, but highly unlikely) but because it's very valuable experience and gives you skills I wish I had gotten early.

The whole side hustle world like anything in finances is filled with people trying to sell you books, courses or get engagement off of you by giving false expectations, if anything sounds too easy or good to be true, it likely is. I recently found this "database" on a couple of common side hustles people start, these are just ideas, if you have anything in mind (I particularly favor online products, like SaaS, but I'm kinda a software engineer, so I'm biased lol) just build it, try to create something, even if you don't succeed, it's valuable, TRUST ME.

Either way, whatever you do make sure to give it your best, create the best service you can and stick to it. Good luck

College is really worth it?

College is really worth it?
Depends on the degree, but generally yes, if you're interested I made a guide about it. I'd recommend reading the spoiler sections where I go into detail about why a degree is very much worth it.

Yes and no. To be a lawyer you don't need high IQ in the sense of logical problem-solving or mathematical skills (obviously), but you should be very good at memorizing, retaining information and have good rhetorical abilities. If you're good at those 3, you're likely a good fit for law.
