What's the downsides

i don't care about gum recession. and gum cancer never happens.

You don't achieve anything, even if there were to be no physical side effects.

You temporarily get happier, but your body adjusts. Now you need to spend money to sustain your baseline happiness.

That's why you can't take drugs and be happy doing nothing. Furthermore, cheating your reward system decreases your motivation. Why get dopamine trough hard work (studying, working out, etc.) when you can get dopamine so easily.

It's a no-brainer, really.
